Long Point Regatta - August 2nd, 2025

With summer (finally) underway, planning for this year’s Regatta is in full swing. It’s going to be hard to top last year’s Centennial events; but we have a couple of exciting new features to this year’s Regatta, with details to follow in the coming weeks. The Regatta will take place on Saturday, August 2nd (Civic Holiday Long Weekend).

Please read the details below on the Regatta Events, Raffle Donations, and how to purchase your Regatta Dinner and Raffle Tickets using our Long Point website and a simplified payment portal this year! Reminder emails and printed communications will also be distributed over the next several weeks with key dates and helpful updates on the day's activities.

Afternoon Events Schedule Reminder - Child & Adult Field Events Start First
The afternoon event program for the past few years has successfully started with the children’s field events (running, wheelbarrow) and adult Balloon / Shoe Toss, streamlining the afternoon program in a big way. A schedule of events sheet will be distributed to every cottage in advance, including a QR code for mobile access to the events schedule, so please check your mailboxes as we get closer to Regatta day.

Regatta Dinner & Raffle Tickets – Tickets Available Online (Purchase Deadline is July 19th)
To simplify the sale of dinner and raffle tickets, we will use the same online order and e-transfer payment system deployed for the past two years. To help with rising costs associated with Regatta expenses, particularly the direct costs of food and supplies, there is a slight change to the dinner ticket prices, which have been held stable for a number of years. Dinner tickets for 2025 will be at $18 per adult, and remaining at $12 per child (10 years and under). Raffle ticket prices will remain the same at $10 (per booklet of 10 tickets). E-transfer payments can now be submitted directly to the Long Point Residents Association (LPRA) account at longpointra@gmail.com.

Because of lead times to order chicken from our supplier, the deadline for purchasing dinner tickets is July 19th. If you have any questions about the Online Dinner / Raffle Ticket Order Form or purchase process, please contact riley.doolittle@gmail.com. A reminder will be sent ahead of that date to ensure you can make your orders before that deadline.

Regatta Raffle – Please Donate A Prize! 
A big thank you to Richard and Renata Trent for once again taking on the huge volunteer role to organize the Raffle this year. The Regatta Raffle is an important fundraiser for the Association and we encourage all cottages to donate a prize or contribute with a group prize. Please drop your prize off at the Trent Cottage at 197 Ridge Drive by Friday, August 1st.

Regatta Dinner – Shared Salad Bar is Back
Following renewed interest and positive feedback, the Board of Directors has decided to bring back the shared salad stations for this year. Each family is kindly asked to bring a salad (or salads) sized appropriately for your attending group to contribute to our communal salad bar, which will be set up near the chicken serving tables. Thank you to everyone for the feedback—and the sentiment that it's time to make friends with salad again!

Wine Survivor – Final Draw Taking Place at Regatta Dinner
We will once again be holding the final draw for the Wine Survivor at the Regatta Dinner, a fun addition to the program. A big thanks to Cory Lamothe for organizing this. More information on how to register for this event will be coming soon.

Dance Party
A fun evening of music and dancing after the dinner and raffle wraps up will cap off the night, so bring your dancing shoes. As a reminder, the dance party is included with your dinner ticket and is paid for from the proceeds of dinner ticket sales. Music and dancing will commence at the conclusion of the raffle and Regatta trophy presentations and run until 11:00pm.
